How they met
Ashlee: Wes and I are both elementary teachers. We met teaching at the same school in 2017. I teach elementary music and Wes teaches elementary art. We instantly became best friends and the rest is history.
How did Wes Propose?
Ashlee: We went on a family trip to Disney World over Christmas Break 2019. He proposed in front of the Cinderella Castle and also asked my 7 year old daughter to marry him (with a diamond castle necklace). She thinks she is the one getting married. hehe. Wes not only asked my dad for permission to marry me but also asked my 10 year old son. 🙂
Wedding Planning During Covid
Ashlee: We were going to get married in Hawaii during our Spring Break in March, but with Covid restrictions, Hawaii was out of the question. We decided to rent out a VRBO in Woodland Park and have a fun family vacation before we get married. We are getting married at an amphitheater, on the VRBO property, located in the woods. We are doing a small 40-50 people wedding and hoping that Covid doesn’t effect our big day in June. As long as our family is together, we will make it work.
I have a 7 year old daughter and 10 year old son. We want the wedding to be intimate and small so the children feel included and think of it as their big day also. That is a huge reason why we wanted to have a fun family vacation before the wedding.
