The Proposal

Makenna: Ben proposed on our favorite hike with my DREAM ring. I thought we were going to go ring shopping later that day, but then Ben surprised me with a super-intimate and special proposal and I sobbed my eyes out.

Venue Selection

Makenna: We picked our venue based on guest count, outdoor availability and ambiance. We loved the outdoor reception area Creekside Event Center provided and the “back-up” plans in place for weather complications. We also loved the modern, clean and new feel Creekside offered.

Advise From the Bride

Makenna: Ben and I are extremely fortunate to have a wedding planner guide us along our wedding planning journey. I would highly recommend finding someone who knows wedding-specific tips and tricks, etiquette and timelines. I would also tell any newly-engaged person to SAVE; it feels like the expenses will never end! It is definitely worth it, but make room for unexpected costs. I would also say you only get one wedding so do it the way you want and splurge on a photographer or videographer. These professionals will be able to capture this expensive and special day in ways you won’t have time to do! At the end of the day, HAVE FUN and let things go! Genuine emotions are best on camera!
