Bride and groom cheer while they ride a ski lift down from their mountaintop wedding ceremony with a cute mr. and mrs. sign tied to the back

A Kiss on Top of the World was photographed by Amie Hazlett and Summer Williams with Tina Joiner Photography. Anthony and Rebecca got married in the fall on top of a mountain in Granby, Colorado. Their day was filled with unpredictable weather and stunning views. Even though we had to run for cover and wait on the rain to pass, their day was absolutely perfect.

How They Met

Rebecca:  We met while working at the Arapahoe County Public Defenders Office.

How Did He Propose?

Rebecca: Anthony set up a whole night out, including dinner at a jazz club were we had our second date and karaoke at our favorite spot – clearly trying to make me think he was going to propose at one of these places. He didn’t and we went home. I got changed and then came out to our living room totally decorated with fairy lights, candles, and flowers and he proposed in the living room.

How Did You Pick Your Venue?

About 12 hours after we told our parents we were engaged, Rebecca’s mom sent an email with about four different venues. We visited Granby Ranch first and fell in love. We didn’t visit a single other venue.

Is there anything fun or unique that we will see at your wedding?

Rebecca’s family loves playing musical chairs during the reception. It can get fairly violent.

Has Covid-19 effected your wedding plans and how did you deal with it?

We had to reschedule our original wedding date, which was 9/20/20. Luckily, rescheduling went rather smoothly. We had already rented a vacation house for the wedding and decided to keep the reservation. We and a small group in our “COVID circle” went to the house for the weekend and had a “funeral” for our original wedding date.

What advise would you offer someone planning a wedding now?

Hire a planner! Or get things done a lot earlier than you think is necessary.
