How They Met

Krista: Bryce and I met the summer of our Junior year in high school. We went to different high schools but our paths crossed and Bryce says it was love at first sight! He knew I was the girl he was going to be with forever from the moment he met me.

How Did He Propose?

From Krista’s Wedding Website: In 2017, Bryce and Krista decided to host their families for Christmas Day at their house. It was an amazing day filled with love, laughter, and great food. Bryce helped Krista in every way possible to make sure the day turned out flawless. At the end of the evening, when all of the family members left, Bryce and Krista decided to listen to some music, relax, and scratch the lottery tickets they had won during a gift exchange game. Bryce suddenly said, “oh I forgot I had a gift for you that I hid!” He brought out a large box, while Krista, not suspecting anything, said, “OK, let me see if this ticket is a winner first.” Bryce anxiously waited for Krista to open the box, and when she started to, she said, ” oh I hope it is the humidifier I was wanting!” Inside the box was a TON of tissue paper, and finally a little book titled, “Everything is Better With You.” Bryce had custom made a book with cartoon characters of the two of them, with each page describing something that he loved about Krista. Krista started crying as soon as she started reading the book, but did not think anything was out of the ordinary because Bryce has made her sweet gifts like this in the past. Krista got to the last page and realized that there were a few blank pages behind it so as she flipped to the end where she saw the final page with cartoon Bryce down on one knee asking, “Will you marry me?” When she was able to look up through all of her tears, there was Bryce on one knee, with Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud ” playing in the background. Bryce nervously asked Krista if she would marry him, and she exclaimed, “of course!” Despite being together for 12 years, Bryce said it was one of the most difficult things to do because he wanted it so perfect. Krista could not have asked for a more intimate, romantic, and unique proposal! To be able to surprise someone you are with for so long is truly amazing and something that is unforgettable. Krista will always have the book to remind her of such a special moment.

And That Ring?!

Krista: Bryce had my ring custom made from James Allen.

Fashion for the Engagement Session

Krista: It took a lot of trying on many different looks for our engagement pictures! First we thought we wanted a casual look, but we wanted just a little more pizzazz once we tried on outfits. I wanted to tie in the colors of our wedding to our outfits and wanted a romantic feel to my look. When I came across this dress, after searching high and low for months, I knew it combined all the things I wanted and was romantic, flattering, and pretty. Bryce is an excellent dresser and has an eye for detail so he coordinated his tie and shirt to compliment my outfit without looking too similar.

I had my hair colored the day before at Lush and Lather salon in Colorado Springs, by my stylist, Reine Leech. For the session, I styled my hair that day and did my own makeup.

About Their Fur-Baby

Krista: Our dog’s name is Coco, she is 13 years old, and is a Yorkie. She was my 18th birthday gift and I have had her as long as Bryce and I have been together. The two of them have both seen me through 3 graduations and now a wedding! Coco will be part of our day and will be our flower girl/ring bearer.

Note From Krista

Krista: It will be our 14th anniversary the weekend we get married! Our engagement pictures were the first time we took professional photos together, and we were super nervous, but you guys made it so easy to relax! I have been a bridesmaid 7 times, so it feels very surreal that it is finally me. Bryce and I wanted to wait until we were established in our careers before we finally said “I do.” I have been doing lots of DIY projects and it has been so fun, we are both excited for the day to finally be here and be surrounded by our loved ones. Bryce and I love joking around with each other and having fun, and I think our wedding hashtag captures us well since it is “punny,” it is #livinglavidaochoa haha!
