How the Couple Met

Darla: We went to college together and both played sports, but didn’t know each other until our friends Justine and Dylan set us up!

Story of the Proposal

Darla: We went to Lakeville, Minnesota (Darla’s hometown) for a summer solstice party my family was hosting. At sunset Nathan took me down by the horse pasture and proposed and then my whole family was there to celebrate!

Wedding Preparations

Selecting a Venue

Darla: We wanted something with a mountain feel, but most of the places we visited in the mountains felt too claustrophobic. When we visited Flying Horse Ranch it felt perfect! Everything was so open and spacious and it had all the feels we wanted (outdoor ceremony, elegant ballroom, and barn).

Unusual Details

Darla: The venue started offering wagon rides so we will have that available. Other than that and our families (wink), nothing too unusual!

Advice for Future Brides

Darla: If the venue offers an all-inclusive type package, do it!! It has made planning so much more enjoyable and fun, and our wedding coordinator has been amazing and so helpful too! It took a lot of stress out and let us make the fun decisions.

Name cards and table assignments are organized neatly in rows at the reception, favors are in cinch sacks stating Let Love Grow
Three tier wedding cake made by The Sugarplum Cake Shoppe has a Mr. and Mrs. cake topper with lavender and white roses with eucalyptus accents, the dessert bar is expertly arranged with cupcakes, trifles and brownies, Love is intoxicating open bar sign welcomes guests to order cocktails, wine and beer
